She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Lugo Sr.; daughter, Elena Lugo and Lydia Lugo Ochoa; grandson, Zachary Lugo; granddaughter, Melissa Ochoa Siebert; great-grandson, Wesley Siebert; and siblings, Ben Elizondo, Narcissa Rivera, Thomasa Lerma, Fermin Lerma Jr., Pete Lerma and Sara Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children, Joe Lugo Jr. (Anna), Anna Lugo Ybarra (Thomas), David Lugo Sr., (Terrie); 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The Lugo family moved to Calhoun Co. in 1952 when Joe began working at Alcoa. Santos was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed working with the youth group. Always perfectly poised and dressed complete with hair and makeup, she was the epitome of a true lady and will forever remain in our hearts. Her recipes for delicious food will always be a staple on the tables of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially her oatmeal cookies.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Port Lavaca with her grandson, Joseph Lugo, officiating the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Lugo, Daniel Lugo, Chris Hambrick, Patrick Garza, Michael Guzman and Andrew Guzman.
