Shirley "Marie" Johnson

Marie was born on September 2, 1952 in Edna, TX to Theodore and Betty Drexler. Marie met Kenneth Johnson at the age of 13 years old while attending Bloomington Jr. High and they went on their first date at the age of 16. Their love blossomed and married Nov. 6, 1971.

Marie is survived by her husband, Kenneth Johnson Sr.; siblings, Teddy Ray and Gladys Machicek, Sandra and Johnny Hahn, Theodore "Buster" Drexler, A.J. and Angela Drexler, and Betsy Glover; 3 children, Kenneth and Heather Johnson Jr. of Knoxville, AR, Byron and Heather Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, and Gwen and Jamie Masterson of Ft. Smith, AR; 12 grandchildren, Paige Boyd, Teresa Hern, Alexis Masterson, Gabriella Smith, Savannah Johnson, Mallory Jones, B.J. Smith, Brook Masterson, Emma Johnson, Hailee Masterson, Hayden Johnson, and Ayden Johnson; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

Marie was a very loving, caring, and smiling person. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and sewing. She touched so many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

Marie is preceded in death by her father, Theodore August Drexler; mother, Betty J. Drexler; and brother, Royce Glen "Bubba" Drexler.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Tivoli Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kenny Johnson, Byron Johnson, Jamie Masterson, B.J. Smith, Gabriella Smith, and Savannah Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers are Teddy Ray Machicek, Buster Drexler, A.J. Drexler, A. Jay Drexler, Mallory Jones, Todd Jarish, and William Johnson.
