Wanda Brewster Smith McGrath

Wanda Brewster Smith McGrath, 89, of Port Lavaca passed away June 15, 2021. She was born August 31,1931, in Quinlan, TX to John and Flaurie Lee Brewster. Mrs. McGrath was active in Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church as a daily lector and Eucharistic minister.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Smith of Victoria; sons, James Smith (Liliana) of Bogota, Colombia and Jeff Smith (Carolee) of Ganado; step-sons, Patrick McGrath (Delia) of Alamo Beach, Bill McGrath (Tania) of Dayton, and Joe McGrath of Flatonia; daughter-in-law, Donna McGrath of Houston; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Owen “Ramie” Smith and David McGrath; parents; step-son, Tommy McGrath; and sister, Margaret Schlesinger.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 6-7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church with Father Tommy Chen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.

Pallbearers are Weston Smith, Cherokee McGrath, Brandon McGrath, Christopher McGrath, Doug Moss, and Lloyd Ruddick.

Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church or Hospice of South Texas.
