Carmela (“Millie”) Infantino, 86, of Daytona Beach, Fl passed away peacefully on the morning of November 8, 2010. She will be remembered affectionately by all. Those who knew Millie were fortunate, as her friendly personality was as warm as the sunny summer day on which she was born in New York City. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loyal friend. While still a young girl living in New York, Millie met and married the love of her life, Sebastino Infantino. There they raised a family and lived many happy years together before retiring to Daytona Beach in 1984. Millie was an outstanding cook, with an authentic Italian flair. In fact, she descends from the family who first brought pizza to the United States in 1905. She loved to travel and always looked forward to the holidays and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her. Millie is predeceased by her precious daughter Amelia Raynack. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her adoring husband Sebastino Infantino; her loving son Salvatore Infantino; her four grandchildren Denise Marie Raynack, Michael Raynack, Paul Raynack, ( along with their dad Harry Raynack) and Dion Infantino; four great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Millie also leaves many caring friends in both Florida and New York. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to The Terraces staff members and to Odyssey Hospice for their care and compassion. A memorial mass was held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange, Fl on Monday, November 15, 2010 followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fl. Arrangements under the direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange, FL.
