

Troy Lynn Tatum, 68, of Port Orange, FL, died on the morning of June 1, 2016 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center of heart failure. Troy was born April 22, 1948 in Fort Worth, TX to Etta Jean Brackney and Burl C. Tatum with sisters Johnnie and Linda. Graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM and served in during Vietnam with the Navy Hospital Corp. as an Operating Room Technician. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA where he met his wife, Judy and had their son, Kevin. He began teaching as a professor at Palmer after graduation and held several faculty and administrative positions including Dean of Basic Sciences and Director of the Student Clinic on the Davenport campus. He earned his Master of Science in Health Care Administration and a Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics. Dr. Tatum joined the Palmer Florida Campus in 2007. Troy was preceded in death by his mother Etta Jean Brackney, father Burl C. Tatum, and sister Linda Carpenter. He is survived by his wife Judy Tatum of Port Orange, FL; son Kevin Tatum of Orange, VA; and sister, Johnnie Kelley of Benbrook, TX. As per his wishes, Troy will be cremated and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Florida Hospital HospiceCare or Palmer College.
