Lake Monroe Hospital, surrounded by her children, Joyce-Ann Pagan, David Pagan, Jr., Vincent
Pagan, and Cynthia Pagan. She was predeceased by her husband, David Pagan, Sr., in
January of 2017.
Eleanor was born on December 27, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Rose and
Vincent Lembo. She had two siblings, sister Carmela Lembo Hedger and brother Vincent
Lembo. She was raised and attended school in Brooklyn until 1961, when she married her
husband David and moved to Mt. Vernon, NY, to raise her family. She eventually moved in 1971
to Bergenfield, NJ, where she pursued a number of clerical jobs until her retirement. After his
retirement, Eleanor and David moved to Macungie, PA, and several years later to Port Orange,
FL, where they lived until David passed. She most recently resided at the American House
assisted living center in Orange City, FL, where she moved in 2020.
Eleanor spent her days involved heavily in a variety of social organizations and duties,
ranging from various Parents Associations at Bergenfield High School in NJ to church
organizations and youth groups to a role as Ambassador at the American House in Orange City.
She was a vocal member of these organizations, and took great pride in helping in any way she
could. She was particularly motivated to help children, and she took every opportunity to join
causes and groups that sponsored children or mentored children through church, school, or
charities.
The love of Eleanor’s life was her family and her deep friendships she developed
through the years. She was always open to new friendships, and grew close to many family and
friends from her childhood days in Brooklyn all the way to her final home at the American
House. Along with her two siblings and three children, she leaves behind two daughters-in-law,
Cynthia (Glotfelty) Pagan and Lori Robicheau-Pagan, five grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Eleanor will be remembered at a Celebration of Life to be hosted by her children on July 8, 2023, at the Hard Rock Daytona Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
