

Mr. Aschman was born in Mahanoy City, PA and came to this area in 1992. He retired in 1989 after 32 years with the US Government. A Korean War veteran, he served in the US Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He joined the US State Department in 1961 and served 28 years overseas with the Foreign Service as a Communications Officer. His initial assignment was to Sydney, Australia, where he met and married Patricia, his wife of 59 years. Together they travelled the world to Frank’s assignments in Sofia, Bulgaria; Bangkok, Thailand; Bonn, Germany; Melbourne, Australia; Frankfurt, Germany; Jakarta, Indonesia; Mexico City, Mexico; and Ottawa, Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, three daughters: Denise (James, Jr.) Crim of Indialantic, FL, Allison (Jim) Gambill of Windsor, England, and Kristin (Bruce) Haws of Ephrata, PA; along with 3 grandchildren: Holden Marks Haws, Parke Francis Haws, and Zakk Charles Robert.
In his retirement, Frank enjoyed dancing, cruises, and trips to Pennsylvania, Indialantic and overseas to visit his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving family man and will be missed.
Shannon Maloney Funeral Home is in charge, with interment in Port Orange Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
