

Frank was born on August 1, 1953, in Arlington, Virginia, to John Emory Crooks and Clara Ethel Johns. He grew up in Silver Springs, MD, ultimately graduating from Wheaton High School. He also attended Lakenheath High School in the United Kingdom for his early high school years. Frank continued his education at Frostburg State University where he earned a bachelor’s in history and met his wife of 42 years, Debra Laine Garriques.
Together Frank and Laine built a beautiful family. He was blessed with four children and five grandchildren. He cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His love and devotion to his family and friends knew no bounds along with his deep passion for the golf course and the Washington Redskins.
Frank’s professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence. He worked tirelessly for 20 years leading Muzak franchises and commercial sound contracting companies along the east coast, leaving an enduring mark on his colleagues and the industry. He was known for his leadership and service, demonstrated by the many distinguished awards received throughout his career, as well as earning numerous sales and sales management awards through his tenure. He was privileged to spend the last 17 years leading Garriques Associates Staff Leasing as President/Owner.
Not only was Frank a hard worker and dedicated to his family, but he was also actively involved in the community. He served as a member of several organizations including the Port Orange-South Daytona Chamber of Commerce; the Port Orange-South Daytona Rotary Club; Board Member of Riverside Pavilion; and Commissioner of the City of Port Orange Planning and Zoning Board.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara as well as sister, Ruth and brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Laine Crooks, Port Orange, Florida, his daughter Nicole Nasca (husband Carlo), Sunrise, Florida, sons Christopher Crooks (wife Amanda), New Holland, Pennsylvania, Cameron Crooks, Tampa Florida and his daughter Natalie Paoletti (husband Casey), Port Orange Florida. Additionally, surviving him is his brother John, two sisters Mary and Amy, mother-in-law Pegge Garriques, and his five beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Emory, Nicholas, Luca, and Sophia. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and a wide community of friends. Frank’s memory will live on through the cherished moments we shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love he gave.
A Celebration of Frank's Life and Legacy will be held Saturday, October 7, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 3 pm to 4 pm, with a service beginning at 4 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home - Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129.
