

Glenn “Mac” McGlone, 78, passed away peacefully in the care of Hospice Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City, on February 1, 2018. Born Chicago, Illinois, Graduated Hinsdale High 1957, married Nancy Fleischman and moved to Edgewater 1957. Employed by Southern Bell 1957 until retirement 1988.
Starting at the age of 14 with his first 1934 Ford continuing through several years of drag racing into the restoration of antique Fords, Glenn was an avid car enthusiast. He specialized in Flathead performance engines, 1927-1957 Fords, and the preservation of racing history by building replicas of race cars from the 1930's through the 1950's. Not only did Glenn build his own cars, but he shared his wealth of knowledge and skills with many other enthusiasts and friends.
A member of several auto clubs including Living Legends Auto Racing, Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association, and Antique Automobile Club of America.
Glenn was a generous person who donated to numerous charities that were dear to him.
Predeceased by parents Stanley E. McGlone and Marie V. Fricano. Glenn is survived by his loving children Linda Lee Mills, Vicki Ann Yohe (Wayne), Timothy Glenn McGlone (Sherry), and Terry June Naszcyniec (Ed); grandchildren Cody, Loren Marie, Kelsie Taylor, Tiffany and Tyler; companion Carol Ludwin and the mother of his children Nancy McGuire (Joe).
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Majestic Oaks Rehab and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Hospice in Orange City who helped care for Dad in his final weeks.
The family will greet friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129, with a Celebration of Life commencing at 2:00 p.m. The family encourages you to drive your old car or street rod and to dress in casual attire. Private interment will be for family.
