Harry Lee Johnson, who was affectionately called Junior, was born 5 July 1940, in Miami, Florida, to the late Rose and Harry Lee Johnson Sr. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Gainesville, Florida. He married the love of his life, the former Elba Soto, who preceded him 14 years ago.
Junior had a passion for cooking. As a young man, he relocated to New York where he assisted his mother and aunt in the management of the family-owned restaurant, The Pink Tea Cup. He not only took delight in cooking, but he also enjoyed welcoming the customers, and often took photographs with those who frequently patronized the restaurant.
He returned home to Florida with his family in 1978 after many years of managing the restaurant. He found great joy and pleasure in gardening and watching movies. He was well versed in all sporting events. The NFL was his favorite. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Junior had a kind, gentle and peaceful spirit. Left to cherish his memories are his four children, Sylvia Earl (Lionel), Rose Gray (Albert), Lee Johnson and Annie Harris (Tom). He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Nicole (Tim), Lionel III, Albert III, Kenneth and Marissa (Angela); a great grandson, Jakob and his sister Wanda Johnson. He also leaves behind his nephew William, and nieces Falon and Shanica.
He will be greatly missed by his dear family and friends. Rest in Peace, Junior, Dad, Pops, and Grandpa…until we meet again.
