James “Floyd” Winn, 74, of Port Orange passed away at his home on New Years Day surrounded by his family. He was born on May 14, 1938 in Daytona Beach, son of James and Laura Baker Winn. His parents were part of the original founders of Ormond Beach and his mother established the first school house. Floyd worked for Bellsouth for 41 years and was a member of the National Guard Reserves for 9 years. He was active in the Cursillo and Kairos movement along with activities with his Church of the Holy Child Family. He was also an avid hunter and loved baseball. Floyd is survived by his high school sweet heart, Pat of 54 years; two children, Lori (Rob) Roberts and Cindy(Chuck) Vola of Port Orange, 4 grandchildren, Eric and Kelly Roberts and Vicki and Katie Vola and two sister-in –laws, Lorene Winn of Interlachen and Dianne Hilton of Ocala. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Holy Child, Ormond Beach on January 12, 2013 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to the Church of the Holy Child or Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund.
