

A mass of Christian burial for John P. McCloskey, who went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, will be 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Epiphany Catholic Church, 201 Lafayette St., Port Orange, FL. The interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Port Orange, FL.
Mr. McCloskey was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 25, 1933 to the late James and Bridget (nee’ Conaghan) McCloskey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the American Legion. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church. Mr. McCloskey worked for General Motors in New York. In his later years, he lived at the Emory L. Bennett V.A. Nursing Home, Daytona Beach, FL.
Mr. McCloskey leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving family of one son, James McCloskey; one brother, Jerome McCloskey; two sisters, Ann Gubler, New York and Margaret “Peggy” Perone, Daytona Beach Shores, FL; nieces, Nephews and cherished friends; The Clare Nuns, Wappinger, New York and many dear friends from Emory L. Bennett V.A. Nursing Home.
