John G Valentine

John G Valentine, age 96, passed away on Saturday December 9, 2017. John was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 11, 1921. For many years John was a hospital attendant at Pilgrim State Hospital in New York where he worked until his retirement. He and his wife moved to Florida in the early 80's. He was an avid Shuffleboard player, enjoyed time playing cards and never saw a dessert that he would pass up. He was a great guy who loved his family, treated all his friends like family and always had a positive attitude on life.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Carol Sanders and husband William, John Valentine and his wife Valerie, Geraldine Correia; grandchildren: Susan Summers and husband Randy, Carolyn Leahy and her husband Shawn, Tara, Kerry, Jason Valentine and Cherie Correia; great grandchildren: Joshua Frarer, Megan, Dominic, Reagan, Bristol and Jacob Valentine, Mya Courtney, Gavin Leahy, and Sienna Sapira. He was predeceased by his wife Susan and grandson Daniel.

A memorial service for John will be held Friday, December 15, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129.
