WILLIAMS JOHN EDWARD- John Ed Williams, 77, of Port Orange, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011. He was surrounded by his loved ones. A celebration of life for Ed will be held at Spruce Creek Baptist Church on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Bernie Davis as the celebrant. The interment will be at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach immediately following the service.

He was the oldest of four children and born in Sandy Hills, GA to the late Bessie Mae Williams and John H. Williams. He attended Port Orange Elementary and Mainland High School. Ed was a roofing contractor and owner of Williams Roofing and Siding in Port Orange which was formerly owned by his father, John H. Williams. Later he was a delivery driver for Yancey's and Lore, L.LTD. Ed is a member of Yellow Bluff Hunting Club and Warsaw Hunting Club in Georgia and a former member of Silver Sands Bridle Club. He was a crafted knife maker and did restoration of knives. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ed proudly served in the military during the Korean War.

Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Jann Brownrigg Williams; three children Wayne E. Williams, his wife Lynda, Port Orange, Bobbi Miller,her husband, Jeff Miller, Port Orange and Mark Williams and girlfriend, Brenda Altburg, South Daytona; brother,Jack Williams Port Orange; sister, Nancy Gregory, Ormond Beach; sister-in-law, Marilyn Williams, Tenn; Four grandchildren, Justin Williams, his wife Michelle, Jennifer Crider, her husband Kyle, Dallas Miller and Danae Miller; Five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Williams.
