

Kaia Marie Banios of Port Orange, FL passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2017, and sleeps in Jesus waiting for him to awaken her in her new body at his return. A graduate of Rasmussen College working successfully in various sales positions. Kaia embraced life and lived fully in the moment. She had an infectious smile that brightened every one’s day. Her motto was, "Dance with your fears."
She was born to Craige Banios and Barbara (Banios) Schaefer April 13, 1989 in Shakopee, MN. Kaia leaves behind her stepfather, Mark Schaefer; sister, Monica Koran; brother, John Michael Harkins; stepsisters: Kathryn Hagen (Josiah), Laura Schaefer, Marcia LaBelle (Cory); grandfather, Dr. Roger Hallgren; step-grandmother, Blanche Schaefer; stepsisters, Suzanne Glover, Stacey Klein, Meghen Fry; stepson, Tim Connerty, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by stepmother, Nancy Banios; grandparents, Shirley and Ed Banios; grandmother, Shirley Hallgren; step-grandfather, Ed Schaefer; and uncle, Steven Hallgren.
The family will receive friends 5:30-6:30, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange. A Memorial Celebration of Kaia's life will follow at 6:30 p.m. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.volusiamemorialfuneral.com
