Memorial Service for Kent Y. Poland, 40, of Ormond Beach, who passed away Thursday February 19 at Florida Hospital, will be 5pm Monday February 23 at the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Kent was born in New Smyrna Beach and graduated from New Smyrna High School in 1992. Kent graduated from UCF and received a Master’s degree in Business administration from University of Phoenix. He enjoyed cruises, playing Blackjack and was a Star Wars buff. His favorite holiday was Halloween; he enjoyed all sports and was an avid Miami Hurricane fan. Kent was a devoted husband and adored by his children, Jake and Olyvia who loved his special way of saving roaming turtles on the roadside. Survivors include, his wife, Mary Ann Beedle-Poland; two children, Jake Kameron Poland and Olyvia Ann Poland; his mother in law, Mary Beedle, father in law, Bart Beedle; brother in law Robert (Eileen) Beedle; sister in law, Emily and her fiancé, Matt Quigley.
