Lela K Harshman, 86, passed peacefully on June 7, 2012 at Sandalwood Nursing Home. She was born on May 11, 1926 in Barnesville, Ohio daughter of the late Grover C and Laura B ( Wilkes) Frasher. Lela was a member of the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church in Akron, Ohio.She enjoyed politics and associated events. She served as president of Summit County Women's Democratic Association in Akron, Ohio. She loved to Garden and socialize, enjoying many card clubs including; Bridge, Canasta and Euchre. She moved to this area from Ohio in 1991 and resided in Port Orange. Her husband Claude Harshman predeceased her in 2004. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters Sharon Salandre, of Port Orange, and Joyce Babcock of Xenia, Ohio; granddaughter Chantelle Foulk and her husband James of Edgewater; grandson Robert Salandre and his wife Nancy of Stow Ohio; two great grandchildren, Danielle and Caelan Salandre and her sister Helen McClelland in Ohio . At her request the services will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to American Cancer Society.
