Linda Susan LaCorte

Linda Susan LaCorte; of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away April 9, 2015 after her battle with Brain Cancer. She was formally of North Tonawanda, N.Y. and was the loving daughter of Cosimo and Ann LaCorte. Linda attended Alfred University where she received a BS in nursing and later earned her Master Degree from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. Linda served in the Navy as a nurse and held the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade (ltjg). Linda and her family moved to Daytona Beach, FL where she worked as an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner seeing adults and geriatric patients. Linda was loved by her patients and the medical staff she worked with. She had high care standards and great compassion for all. Linda also served the community as a Stevens Minister for a local Lutheran Church to help care for the spiritual needs of the community. Linda is survived by her mother Ann La Corte; sister, Alethe Allen; husband, Christopher M. Hornung; sons, John R. Pasternak and Richard J. Pasternak; daughter, Catherine A. Hornung and grandson, Reef Pasternak. Linda will be missed by all who knew her. The family requests instead of sending flowers please donate to any of the cancer foundations to stop cancer now. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday April15, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church 1205 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill FL.
