

Mike started his career in New York City working for Con Edison. He began as a meter reader and worked his way up to management. He moved to Florida in 1972 and co-owned the South Daytona Shell Station on Ridgewood Avenue for 27 years. He worked for Thompson Pump before retiring. He was a charter member of the Port Orange/South Daytona Rotary Club. During his 40 years with the club he served as President and was a member of the Board of Directors for many years. He also served as President of the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Board of Directors. He served as President of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church’s Order of AHEPA and was awarded AHEPAN of the year two years in a row. He loved serving the community, and those who knew him will remember his warmth, humor, and outgoing personality. He always found a way to make people smile.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine, and their three children Nick Eddings, Michelle (Russell) Larrimore, and Andrea (Jeffrey) Dobur along with his 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Leah, and Lindsey Larrimore, Michael, Carson, and Alyssa Dobur. During his lifetime he cherished the memory of his grandmother Ruth Slone who raised him.
A Gathering of Friends and Family for a viewing/visitation will be held Monday, June 16, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home – Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange FL 32129. A Trisagion Service will be held Tuesday morning at 10 am at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home – Ormond Beach, followed by entombment at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or the Port Orange/South Daytona Rotary Chapter.
