

Nancy Elizabeth Thomas, 63, passed away in South Daytona, FL. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa and moved to South Daytona in 1981. Retired Senior Professor, Daytona State College, Assistant Chair of Health and Human Service. She received her Doctorate from Nova University in 1992. Nancy served on the Easter Seal Board of Directors for over 20 years. She volunteered with Child Development Program since her retirement July 2014, and Work Oriented Rehabilitation Center Board for 10 years. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Thomas in 2009. Left behind are her mother, Helen Thomas, Gainesville, FL; sisters: Kathleen Shaver (husband Dennis), Tomball, TX, Julie Armistead (husband Lance), Overland Park, KA; nephews: Matthew Shaver (Bridget), Houston, TX, Benjamin Shaver (Jessica), Houston, TX, Clinton Armistead (Samantha), Kansas City, MO; nieces: Elizabeth Rottgers (Alex), Boston, MA, Mackenzie Armistead, Overland Park, KA. A Celebration of her Life will be December 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Daytona State College. Memorial donations to Easter Seals of Volusia County, 1219 E. Dunn Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
