Patricia E. Bunting

Patricia Edwards Bunting was called home on September 3, 2024. Patricia passed at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach from natural causes after a long battle. She was born on April 7, 1939. Patricia was preceded in death by her only sibling Margaret Sharp of Roanoke, VA, and her parents John N. Edwards and Mary P. Edwards of Portsmouth, VA. She is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Margarette Haigler and her husband Jack of Aylett, VA.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Walter Fuller Bunting and her children Michael and Christopher and daughter-in-law Susan all of Port Orange. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristen Jones and her husband Ray Jones of Apex, NC; Mary Bunting of Port Orange, FL, and Patrick Bunting on active duty in the United States Navy currently stationed in Guam. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Grace of Port Orange, FL. Patricia is also survived by her brother-in-law Ralph Sharp his sons Scott and Nick and Nick’s wife Kim all of Roanoke, VA, and all their families. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dixie Bunting and his wife Joann of Sumter, SC, and their families. Patricia is also survived by her brother-in-law Dengum and his wife Vel of Gloucester, VA, along with their family.

She is also survived by her late sister-in-law Margarette Haigler’s children Theresa Bard and her husband Scott; Jack “Bubba” Haigler and Greg Haigler and his wife Rebecca; Tina Haigler-Waldon and her husband Garrison and their families. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers within her program.

Patricia lived a long and prosperous life. She remained active and happy until her final days. She touched the lives of all she came into contact with. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Patricia was a very special soul. Her impacts on others will live on forever. Her family was her main joy and inspiration. She was also strong in her faith and program. She remained a faithful friend of Bill W. for the final 42 years of her life.

Services will be held at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home located at 4815 Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129. On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the visitation will be held from 4 pm to 5:30 pm followed by a service from 5:30 pm to 6 pm with refreshments to follow.

Patricia will be laid to rest on Monday, September 16, in a private ceremony at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
