

PORT ORANGE, FL. Paul David Burton, 67, died on October 3, 2011 in Daytona Beach, FL. Paul was born on January 26, 1944 in Anderson, IN to Isaac and Telles (Sanders) Burton. Following his graduation from Ball State University, he worked in management with General Motors in Anderson, IN for 30 years. He also served in the Air National Guard, Ft. Wayne, IN, as a fighter pilot for 25 years where he rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel and was Squadron Commander of the 163rd Fighter Squadron and 122nd Fighter Wing Plans Officer. Paul pursued his own sales and consulting business in the last 19 years. He resided in Anderson, IN and Indianapolis, IN where he was a member of East 91st Street Christian Church. Paul and Nancy relocated to Port Orange, FL at the Spruce Creek Fly-In Community where he enjoyed aviation and golf.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Smith Burton, and their daughters, Heather and husband David Warren of Tampa, FL, and Julie and husband Josh Chapman of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Kathryn Warren and Colin Chapman.Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m.,Friday ,October 7, 2011 at "The Big Tree" in the community of Spruce Creel Fly-in.
