

It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard H. Edwards announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 at the age of 85, in Deland FL, with the love of his family by his side.
Richard was born in Denver CO on September 3, 1936 to Vivian and Helen (Strong) Edwards.
He graduated from East High School in 1953 in Denver Colorado and was also in the R.O.T.C
On March 12th, 1955, he married the love of his life, Dolores R Marquez in Raton New Mexico. For over 66 years they have shared everything life can offer together.
Richard enlisted with the USMC on June 4, 1954 into the 1st 155 Gun Battalion. In 1957 he made Section Chief on Gun One 5th Battery. In 1964 he was then taken off the gun crew and made Sergeant. On may 1st 1967 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and was later honorably discharged on June 15th 1970. He dedicated 16 years to the service and was very proud of time and continued with his league meetings in Colorado and in Florida.
Richard was employed at Larson Formica, in Denver, CO as a Delivery Driver for over 20 years and also worked part-time as manger at the Denver Theater. He was a loyal, dedicated and a very hard worker. He was compassionate towards everyone. He never met a stranger. His attention to detail and perfectionism was infectious and once in a while could get him into trouble.
Richard was always there for everyone, family neighbors, colleagues, friends and his Marine brothers. His love was unconditional and this is something we will cherish from his character and take with us forever. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Richard is survived by his wife Dolores; son, Stephen Edwards; daughters, Paula Edwards (Southerland), Debra Edwards (deceased), Patricia Edwards, Vivian Edwards (Rivera) and Sibling; Lynn Edwards (Espiau) as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his ten grandchildren and fifteen great, grandchildren. He loved each and every one of them very much and was so very proud of all their wonderful achievements.
Hobbies: loved camping in Colorado, volunteering, spending quality time with his family and friends, sightseeing, He loved the water and could always find him in the pool or hot tub. He LOVED food and trying new restaurants. He was a dedicated Marine and loved all his Marine family.
Richard came out a HERO and stayed strong until the end.
