

Sandor “Sandy” Nemeth, 76, of Port Orange, FL, passed away August 4, 2025. Born in Papa, Hungary, on March 11, 1949, Sandy graduated from Norwalk Community College and received an Associates Degree in Business.
Sandy worked in Retail Management and Grocery Store Industry for Men’s Wearhouse, Macy’s, Columbia Sportswear, ShopRite, and was very active in Youth Bowling and Basketball organizations while living in CT. Married to Cheryl Henchar on July 17, 2004, Sandy had a passion for bowling, NY Giants Football, NY Mets Baseball, Boston Celtics Basketball, NASCAR Racing, UConn ladies and men basketball teams. He enjoyed watching the NCAA Sweet Sixteen Tournaments. Sandy’s favorite driver was Jimmy Johnson #48. Cheryl and Sandy grew to love Walt Disney together throughout their marriage. Cheryl and Sandy always cherished all their trips together.
He was preceded in death by Lucille Nemeth, and parents Sandor and Rozalia Nemeth. He is survived by wife Cheryl Henchar; Judy and Richard Henchar, Christine Henchar Reed (Tennessee), daughter Joanna and Frank Repasi (Connecticut), Suzanna Nemeth (Connecticut), Sandor Nemeth, Jr. and Heather Granja (Connecticut), Julius and Iris Nemeth of New Hampshire, and sister, Rozalia Kopis (North Carolina).
Sandy cherished all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Sandy will be sorely missed by his family and friends in Port Orange, Florida, and Connecticut and family around the United States. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others. Sandy’s generosity touched countless lives.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Advent Health in Daytona Beach and Select Medical Specialty Hospital for their care and support during Sandy’s long health journey.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life memorial service beginning at 2 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129.
