With hearts broken and lives forever changed, we share the passing of Anthony Robert DiMatteo, known affectionately as “Ant”- or “DiMatts” to his wife, Sarah. Anthony passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2025, at the age of 52.
Anthony was the embodiment of quiet strength, fierce love, and unwavering generosity. As a GIS Supervisor for the City of Port Saint Lucie, he was admired for his focus, dependability, and dedication. He knew city code like the back of his hand and took pride in helping shape the community he served.
A passionate board member for Maddie’s Fight Foundation, Anthony honored the memory of his niece, Madison “Maddie” Lane Demers, through service that reflected his deeply compassionate heart.
A lifelong Eagles and Steelers fan, Anthony clapped, cheered (and coached) as if his teams could hear him. His energy, humor, and trademark sleeveless T-shirts made him an unforgettable character. Above all, he was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in a full, lively home surrounded by the family and friends he loved.
To his sons, he wasn’t just a father- he was a friend, a mentor, and the heart of the family. To countless others, he was a trusted ally, and the guy who always showed up when it mattered most.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Sarah DiMatteo; sons Anthony (AJ) DiMatteo, Nicholas DiMatteo (Lanie), Luc Nguyen, Hieu Nguyen, and Tai Nguyen. He is also survived by siblings Theresa DiMatteo, Brian DiMatteo, Michelle Parolski (Jack), and Barbie DiMatteo (Mike Demers); nieces Ella Parolski, Mackenzie Demers, Isla Gustashaw, Nina Zanke and Cleménce Pierrard; nephews John “Trey” Parolski, Nico Gustashaw, Hayes Arden, Roman Zanke and Hudson Arden; sister-in-law Megan Zanke (Nicolas Pierrard), and brothers-in-law Matthew Arden (Jodi), and Max Zanke (Synae).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Barbara DiMatteo, niece Madison Lane Demers, and brother-in-law Rich Hohendorf.
Anthony’s final act on this earth was one of selfless love. As a proud organ donor, he gave the gift of life to several others. His Honor Walk at Lawnwood Hospital served as a powerful reminder that even in death, his kindness lives on.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at 500 Orange Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34950. In true Anthony fashion, sleeves are optional.
Anthony’s legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and love- a reminder to live boldly, love deeply, and always tell your people you love them. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
