Fred Charles Hertzer Jr.

Fred was born in New Hyde Park, NY., in 1942. He graduated from Herricks High School in 1961. Fred started his career in banking at Chemical Bank on Long Island. He worked for them for many years, graduating from several Banking Institutions, and working his way up to Vice President. Fred married his high school sweetheart, Pat, in 1963.Together they raised three children, Susan, Fred III, and Robert. The family moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1978, where Fred went to work for Barnett Bank as V.P. His first wife pre-deceased him in 1986. He met his current wife, Sandra, in 1993 at Family Bank of Hallandale. They married in 1997 and retired from Banking in December of that year. They spent many years enjoying their retirement by traveling around the country in their motorhome. They loved the Georgia mountains, and had a spot in Paradise Valley Campground, in Cleveland, Ga. They retired from RVing in 2017. They moved to Port St. Lucie, in 2012, and have made many wonderful friends .

Fred is survived by his devoted wife Sandy, his daughter, Susan, and sons, Fred III and Robert and his wife Janae, and grandson Ryan.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Aycock at Tradition, located at 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987, on January 18, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
