

Hansi left behind her children, Gary LaValle, of Tamarac, FL, and Michelle (John) Giangarra, of Port St. Lucie, FL, grandsons, Michael, Port St. Lucie, FL, Thomas, Austin, TX, and step-grandson, Nicholas, Matawan, NJ.
Hansi was born on March 20,1924 in Mannheim, Germany where she met the love of her life, Joe LaValle, during WWII. Joe was stationed near her hometown in Germany while serving in the US Army. She came to this country in 1947 where she married Joe and settled in Flushing, NY raising two children until they retired to FL in 1977. Several years after her husband’s passing, Hansi met her longtime companion Ed McCready, with whom she enjoyed many years of love,friendship, travel and other social activities.Ed had also predeceased her in 2022. Hansi was known for her love of ballroom dancing, interior design, fashion sense, creative sewing, and her crush on Dean Martin. Hansi hosted Sunday family dinners by making fabulous restaurant reservations. Her favorite restaurant was Outbank and loved the "Bloomin Onion". Hansi was a cat lover and owner of many fortunate felines over the years. She donated to the Humane Society and various local animal shelters. In addition to all of her interests, Hansi was always health conscious, exercising regularly and was well known and loved by gym goers in her Cascades community. Hansi often graced her friends with stories of WWII life and its hardships and adventures, laughing often while recalling her part in a vacant train robbery, rummaging for food. Hansi enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune every evening with her family.
Hansi was known for her independence, delightful personality, giving nature, optimism and fearless outlook on life but most importantly as a nurturing and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
A Celebration of Life for Hansi will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987.
The Internment will be held at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery on Friday, August 11, 2023 in Flushing, NY where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Joseph.
