Joan Marie Murphins, 75, departed this life in Port St. Lucie Florida on November 24th, 2017 upon the Hogwarts Express to be the guest of honor at Nicholas De-Mimsy-Porpington’s (aka Nearly Headless Nick) annual death day party.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 10, 1942, she relocated to Florida in 1974 and was extremely active in her community during the 17 years she lived in Cooper City. She enjoyed her career as a realtor and was a caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Her greatest joys were her five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, whom she loved with all her heart. Her greatest wish was that they raise their wands and continue to celebrate her love of crafts, books, old movies, and all things Harry Potter. "After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." A. Dumbledore
She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Tom; son, David Erdman (Miriam); daughters Cindy DeJarnette (Todd) and Heather Robertson (Alan); grandchildren Kaitlin Murphins, Alec and Megan Robertson, Eric Erdman, Erin DeJarnette; and great-granddaughter Makenna Bunting.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Rolling Oaks Cemetery. Immediately following the services, her family will receive friends at her home.
