

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Seton Hall University, his Master’s of Arts at Montclair State University, and he earned his Ph.D. from New York University.
Dr. Joe worked in the field of Education for over forty years.
As a faculty member he taught courses ranging from the introductory through the master’s level on the elementary, secondary, business college, propriety, two-year college, four-year college, and university levels in the departments of Education, History, Sociology, and Theology at both public and private institutions of learning.
As an administrator he served as Dean of Graduate Studies and Advisement, Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dean of Student Services, Division Chairperson, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, General Education Coordinator, Department Chairperson, Director of Internships, Faculty Credentialing Officer, Professional Development Coordinator, and Supervisor of the Teacher Education Program.
Throughout his years in Education he worked closely in and out of the classroom with both traditional and non-traditional student populations from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds possessing a wide range of academic abilities from those who needed extensive help to those who were extremely gifted.
In addition, he always considered himself fortunate to have worked with respected colleagues who possessed unique talents and varied perspectives on education.
Dr. Joe was known for his creative ideas and for developing innovative programs to better meet the needs of diverse student populations.
His experience and expertise were instrumental in the development of both undergraduate and graduate programs.
He also played a vital role in the establishment of new campuses.
Dr. Joe believed it was also important to be an active researcher and scholar in order to bring new and creative ideas to the classroom and the university community at large.
As a result, he authored and published seventeen scholarly books and novels as well as publishing four dozen peer reviewed articles.
He also wrote several short stories, and poems.
Dr. Joe was a devoted husband and father who resided in Florida with the love of his life, his wife Joan, and his incredible daughter Angela, who he affectionately called “kid.”
