

Lily (Joseph) was born in Matelot, Trinidad and Tobago to Innocent Joseph and Damiana Joseph, nee Estrada. She lived in Port-of Spain and St. Joseph, Trinidad, was a homemaker for many of her adult years until immigrating to NYC in 1971 at 48 and becoming employed in the Nursing field. She had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past twenty-five years, relocating from Brooklyn, NY after retirement. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health from York College, City University of New York, an achievement she was very proud of and earned at 60 years old. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, a church choir member, and also led an active retirement life taking up many hobbies and making many friends in the community.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Roderick St. Lawrence; two daughters, Jennifer and Patricia St. Lawrence; one son, Robert (Terry) St. Lawrence, her siblings Sylvester (Agapete), Ancilla, Cedric, Inez, Norman, Francis, Bernard, Millie and Albert. She is survived by: two daughters, DeAnn Cobb of Hempstead, NY, Jemma St. Lawrence-Martin, of Brooklyn, NY, her six sons, Tex St. Lawrence of St. Joseph, Trinidad, Noelling St. Lawrence of Miami, FL, Alf St. Lawrence of Bloomingburg, NY, Alvin St. Lawrence of Port Spain, Trinidad, Kenneth St. Lawrence of Port St. Lucie, FL, John St. Lawrence of Staten Island, NY, one sister, Mary Alice Pemberton of Chaguanas, Trinidad, twenty-three grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, sons and daughters-in-law, who will hold her in loving memory.
