

With broken hearts, we bid farewell to an extraordinary man. Louis “Lucho” Philip Abadie, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, age 79, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away surrounded by family on July 4, 2024. Louis was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 1944 and moved to the United States in 1961. He then attended and graduated from Belmont High School in Los Angeles, CA in 1964. Shortly after high school, in 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served until 1979. Louis graduated from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration in 1975. He valued service to his country highly and attained the rank of Captain as a Computer Systems Development Officer. He served as an electronics and aviation computer systems instructor for Air Training Command, Strategic Air Command and Headquarters System Command. He served as a master instructor at locations including the Inter-American US Air Force Academy at Albrook Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone, Keesler AFB in Mississippi, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe NATO in Belgium, and Ramstein AB and Headquarters of the US Army in Europe in Germany.
After separating from the US Air Force, Louis completed a Masters in Telecommunication Management from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1981. He pursued self-rewarding positions such as chief operating officer, executive manager, and vice president of numerous telecommunication companies, which he was extremely proud of. In 2015, he retired from AT&T where he was loved and respected by his colleagues and friends. He was a diehard Miami Dolphins and Heat fan. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf, going to the gym, and had a life-long passion for swimming laps in the morning. He looked forward to traveling, spending time with his family, and watching his grandchildren spoil him with love.
Louis is survived by his wife Miryam Abadie; stepchildren Monique Moran and Julio Gomez (Rabia); children Carrie Levay (Robert), Angela Mensing (Jay), Michael Abadie, and their mother, Cary Abadie; four grandchildren, Andrew Levay, Andres Felipe Moran, and Sofia and Norah Gomez; brother, Manuel Abadie; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Angel and Maria Luisa Abadie, and siblings Yolanda, Carlos, Chela, Arturo, and Tomas.
