Luis Angel Navarro

Luis (“Louie”) Angel Navarro was born to Luis and Esperanza Navarro on July 26, 1961, in the Bronx, NY. Louie’s foundation was built by his parents, who embodied strength, resilience, and determination while instilling in him family values and integrity.

Louie was the first in his family to receive a college education, earning a Bachelor of Science from Rider University followed by a Master’s Degree from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

While at Rider University, Louie met the love of his life, Aida. They spent over forty years together, exemplifying the motto “work hard and play even harder.” Louie and Aida had many homes together, eventually designing their dream home on Fort Myers Beach. An avid collector and living encyclopedia of cars, Louie meticulously assembled miniature models of his favorite antique cars, which he proudly displayed at home. Louie and Aida could have starred in an original "DIY" reality show, showcasing their home improvement skills and knack for selecting the latest technology. They enjoyed their Fort Myers Beach home until Hurricane Ian devastated the property, prompting their move to San Antonio, FL, where Louie spent his final days.

Louie had a deep passion for music, particularly Latin percussion, and salsa from the FANIA All-Stars. He knew the lyrics to many of Hector Lavoe's greatest hits and enjoyed early 80s rock 'n' roll. His love for music led him to play the congas, and during his retirement he enjoyed playing with the community band the "Medley Sound Machine.”

Louie’s greatest contributions were to his family, often stepping in as a father figure for his many nieces and nephews, earning him the affectionate title of "Unkle Louie," spelled with a K.¨ His quiet demeanor, dedication, and charisma inspired his nieces and nephews to also pursue higher education and professional careers.

Louie was an extraordinary and caring man with a heart of gold. He courageously battled heart failure for twenty years, ultimately passing away peacefully, with his family by his side, on March 15, 2025. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Luis and Esperanza, and brother, Eddie. He is survived by his loving wife, Aida, sister Diana Martinez (Lasaro), sister Irma Navarro (Adam), sister Janet Navarro, and his beloved nieces and nephews, who loved him like a father.

Louie’s legacy will live on through family traditions, music, food, and the appreciation for life’s finer things. His infectious smile, zest for life, and love for food, music, and knowledge left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. Bless the bridge that carries him over.
