

On June 18, 1971, in St. Mary, Jamaica, W.I., a baby boy was born to Winston Chin and Jenice Lee (Stewartson). This baby boy they would name Marlon Omarr Chin. Marlon was the eldest of three children. The family migrated to Montreal, Canada in the fall of 1981, there he attended elementary school. Later, in November of 1982, the family relocated to Bronx, New York and Marlon would complete his elementary education. As time moved on Marlon and his family moved to the sunshine state
Florida (10/1985). He attended Norland Middle and Norland Senior High.
Marlon was a hard worker, at the age of 15, Marlon got his first job working at Long John Silver’s. He would later move on to other jobs as he became a husband and father. To support his family, Marlon worked at Jiffy Lube, Publix, Cheney Brothers, Budweiser. He would later move on to bigger and better jobs driving bigger trucks that would take him from Florida to states such as Kentucky, Idaho, and North Dakota. Prior to death, Marlon’s employment was with the Hinterland Group in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Marlon was an avid lover of nature. He was most fond of the sea. He would often state that his dream job would be a fisherman as his grandfather was. Marlon not only enjoyed fishing but other hobbies such as hunting, cooking, gardening (farming) and building things with his hands (welding and woodwork).
When it came to cooking, he would pride himself on creating new recipes. They would sometimes sound crazy but always was very tasty. He mostly enjoyed cooking food outside as if he was still in the country hills of Jamaica where outside cooking is prevalent. Therefore, coining the phrase “outside”. Those
who knew Marlon can admit that he was more than a wonderful person, he was genuine at heart. He did not carry ill will to any one and he was always smiling and full of joy; especially when he had a fishing pole in his hands. He loved life and always saw the positive side of things even in the darkest moments.
Gone but never will be forgotten, Marlon is survived by his fiancé, Narlean Cohen; daughter, Kimberly Chin, Sons, Omarr Chin, Jovaughn Charlton; Mother, Jenice Lee; Sisters, Judith Smith (Husband, Ricardo Smith) and Senortra Linton; Brother, Winston Chin, Jr; grandson, Levi Sanon; Nieces, Sade Barnaby, Noelle Chin, Naiomi Chin, Niviya White; Nephew, Tyrese Henry; grandmother, Verona Nurse; along with aunts, an uncle, cousins, and other loved ones.
