

He was born on May 9, 1946, to Sampson L. Bull and Florence (Ingelido) Bull.
Richard was a 1964 graduate of Plainville High School, Plainville, CT. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1969. During this time, he met his future wife Barbara (Dobbs) Bull. They were married on November 8, 1969. They were married for 56 years.
Together they had two sons, Steven A. Bull and his wife Laureen (O'Donnell) Bull of Conway, SC, and Michael A. Bull and his wife Sheri (Garreau) Bull of Plantsville, CT.
He is predeceased by his older sister Patricia Bull and survived by three sisters; Barbara (Bull) Sorel and her husband Dave, Mary Jane (Bull) Lozefski and her husband Raymond, Laura (Bull) Driscoll and her husband Michael (deceased).
He also leaves behind four grandchildren; Austin, Alyssa, Adam, and Trever; and two great grandchildren, Mia and Sophia, and several nieces and nephews.
As a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478 for 60 years, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.
He enjoyed his time as a member of Red Rock Hunting Club in Sparrowbush, NY. He also enjoyed fishing and boating at his summer cottage in Otis, MA. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, attending games in Boston, but most of all enjoyed his family time.
A Celebration of Life is planned at Aycock at Tradition, located at 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987, on January 24, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by burial services at 3:00 pm at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum in Stuart with Military Honors.
