

Stephen was born in Boston, Massachusetts but moved to Long Island, New York at an early age. He and his family relocated to Florida 32 years ago. While residing in New York, Stephen owned a plumbing company and in Florida he owned a construction company. He was an avid race car fan and was proud to drive his corvette. Stephen enjoyed fishing and spending time at the casinos. Stephen loved life, living life to its fullest. His motto was, “Do what makes you happy.” He taught his kids how to survive in life and passed his handyman skills to his children. He adored his family and was family oriented, always supporting his family in any means possible. He was a fighter in every aspect of his life, including when he got ill. Those close to him know he would , “never give up the ship”.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Giancontieri; and sister, Valerie Buscemi.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Denise Giancontieri; daughter, Nichole Aponte (Edwin), of Port St. Lucie; sons, Stevo Giancontieri (Elizabeth), of Port St. Lucie, Eric Giancontieri, of Port St. Lucie; and Joe Giancontieri (Ida), of Port St. Lucie, Florida; grandchildren, Aleesha, Edwin Jr., Viktoreya, Stephen III, Gianna, Luciano, and Rudy; and brothers, Frankie, Victor, and Russell Giancontieri.
A visitation will take place from 4-7 pm on Friday November 24, 2017 and 10-11 am on Saturday November 25, 2017 with a funeral service to follow at 11 am at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 SW Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34987. Committal will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
