

Falmouth - Annie “Marie” Larsen passed away peacefully on Dec 16, 2017. She was 97 years old. Marie was born on Feb 10, 1920 in West Falmouth, ME to Roy F. Webb and Harriet H. Sawyer Webb. Her father passed away when she was two years old and she was lovingly raised by her Mom and Step Father Azel W. Faunce. She graduated from Deering High school in Portland, ME in 1937 and married her high school sweetheart George “Wolf” Larsen, JR. on May 20, 1940. Together they raised a family of four children. Throughout their lives they lived in many places; Portland, ME, So. Portland, ME, Augusta, ME, Menands, NY returning to Portland, ME where they lived together until she lost the love of her life and husband of 62 years in 2003.
Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she lived her life for her family. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Norman Webb and Robert Webb, step brothers Azel Faunce, Erwin Faunce and Bernard Faunce and step sister Sarah Faunce, grandchild Kelly Larsen and great grandchild Mathew O. Milliken. She is survived by her four children; David Larsen and wife Elaine of Portland, ME, Karen Cravinho and husband Anthony of Scarborough, ME, Andrea Larsen of Portland, ME and Bernice (Bunny) Corcoran and husband Donald of Gray, ME, seven grandchildren; Mathew T. Milliken of Portland, ME, M. Scott Milliken of Glenmont, NY, Robert Fallon of Southbury CT, Lisa Campbell of Westborough, MA, Katherine Leahy of Portland, ME, Shane Corcoran of Gray, ME and Jonathan Corcoran of Gray, ME, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She worked several jobs in the retail sector, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She played basketball in high school and throughout her life enjoyed many activities including bowling, golf, crafts, gardening, dance, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She and her husband George were devoted square dancers, achieving a very high level of expertise in their many years of dancing together. Late in life she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marie was a strong woman known for being honest and practical, her favorite saying was “So be it.” She was also very supportive and loving. In the lives of those who loved her, she was as “constant as the Northern Star.” Her family will miss her greatly.
There will be a graveside service at Brooklawn Cemetery on Wednesday Dec 27, 2017 at 1PM.
