

He was born in Melrose, MA on November 3rd, 1965 to Teresa (St. Peter) and Arthur Pereira. He grew up in Saco and graduated from Cheverus in the top 10 of his class in 1983. He served in the Army from 1987 to 1995, including two tours in Germany. He graduated from USM with honors in 1999.
He married his college sweetheart, Mary (Goodwin) on March 20, 1999.
Anthony was very active in the Portland community. He was past master of Deering Lodge No. 183, F&AM and a past patron of Rivermouth Chapter No. 54, Order of the Eastern Star, in Portsmouth, N.H. He was also a member of Naval Lodge No. 184 in Kittery, Maine Chapter No. 73, Maine Council R&SM No. 7, St. Amand’s Commandary No. 20, Trinity Chapter No. 22 and Deering Chapter No. 59, Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of VFW Post No. 6859 and Charles J. Loring Post No. 25, AMVETS. He was a past president of Bayside Little League and an active, respected umpire in District 6 of the Maine State Little League.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 12 years, Mary, two children, Jessie and Anthony “Teddy”, his mother and father, Arthur and Teresa, three brothers, Wayne and his wife Debra, Peter, and Andrew and his partner Liz Bell, as well as aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, and numerous dear friends. He will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday July 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at the Woodfords Congregational Church, 202 Woodford St. Officiating will be the Rev. Phil Shearman.
A reception will follow at Deering Masonic Hall, 102 Bishop St. Portland.
