Barbara F. Noyes

Barbara F. Noyes, known to many as Mimi, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2012 at the Barron Center with her family by her side. She was born January 15, 1920 in Portland, ME, the daughter of John and Melvina (Vail) Frank. She graduated from Deering High School in 1938. Upon graduation she went on to work at Universal Watkins as an accountant for 31 years and then went on to work at the former Portland Employees’ Credit Union until retirement. She married Arthur “Buddy” Noyes in Camp Lejune where he was stationed in the Marines. They resided in Portland during their marriage. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed volunteering at Maine Medical Center for many years. During her retirement she picked up many hobbies including bowling, knitting and quilting. Everyone who knew her looked forward to her famous desserts.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur of 29 years, sister Ruth Frank and brother George “Dick” Frank. She is survived by her daughter Leslie “Ruthie” Cahill and her husband John, her granddaughters Andrea Cahill, Ashley LeConte and her husband Christopher, her step-granddaughter Melanie Cahill and her husband Justin Smith. She is also survived by her brother John Frank and his wife Mary.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday September 11, 2012 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodfords St, Portland, ME. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 12:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Carolyn Lambert officiating. Internment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Falmouth.
