

Born and raised in Portland, he lived in Falmouth for 25 years where he raised his family. He later split his time between Spring Hill, FL and Gorham. A graduate of Deering High School, Class of 1960, Bruce worked at his family owned business Wayside Donut Shop, also was employed by Canteen Service Company and later owned and operated The Forum Restaurant (formerly Reali's). Lastly, he owned and operated Falmouth Cleaning Service holding many major accounts such as Canal Bank and Hannaford Bros. where he developed many lasting friendships. Bruce took great pride in his impeccably decorated and landscaped homes in Maine and Florida.
He was the ex-husband of Jeanne Donovan-Pelton of Bradenton, FL and longtime partner of Kerree Twombly of Gorham.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Claudia Libby.
He is survived by his two daughters, Robyn Fortier and her husband Chip of Falmouth; daughter Debra Hendy and her husband Noah of Marblehead, MA; and brother Donald and his wife Mary of Portland. His is also survived by his five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation Friday September 2, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford Street, Portland.
