Catherine Marti Marnane O'Leary Taplin

Catherine Marnane (O’Leary) Taplin passed away peacefully on June 10, 2011 at Maine Medical Center. She resided in North Yarmouth for 30 years. She was born in Portland, ME on March 18, 1952 daughter of Jerome and Elizabeth (Berry) O’Leary.

She graduated from Deering High School Class of 1970 and Westbrook College in 1972 with a business degree. She worked

For Dr. Zolov as an Office Manager from 1973 to 1995. She retired to stay home with her daughter Kristen Taplin in 1995.

“Cathi” / “Marti” was a loving, caring, giving person who always put others ahead of herself.

She had a great love for her daughter Krissey. She enjoyed watching Krissey’s pitching career in Softball, and Cathi loved riding horses, Great Danes, beano, and trips to Foxwoods. She volunteered with special needs handicap horseback riding. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Portland.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Cathi is survived by her loving husband Ken, and her daughter Krissey Taplin of North Yarmouth, her brother Jay O’Leary and her special nephew, J.T. O’Leary. She is also survived by her extended family, Dorie Smith, her children and grandchildren along with Brandy and Nikki Adams.

Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday June 15, 2011 from 4-6 PM at the Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. where a memorial service celebrating Cati’s life will follow at 6:00 PM.
