David was born on October 22, 1963 in Portland the son of Robert and Judith Lund Burnham. He attended Woodford School.
David was a person that once you met him he left a mark on your heart whether it be from his friendly loving personality or his always present smile. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always had a positive outlook on life. David was a long time employee working at Hannaford Supermarkets on both Forest Ave and Riverside Drive for 20 years. During that time customers would come to the store and if they didn’t see David they would ask where he was because they wanted to see him and his glow. When he was done working at Hannaford for a time he could be found working for the Portland Sea Dogs his favorite baseball team. Once done as an employee David could be seen at many of their games routing them on. While at work David would make friends with everyone but found a special place with the Portland Fire Department and especially Ladders 4 and 9 who would frequently have him over for supper and especially when they were making spaghetti. David always looked for ways that he could give of himself to make others happy but also would admit that he got a little spoiled on holidays from all of his friends giving him gifts. He always remembered and spoke of the special outings that he took with his friends from Hannaford whether it be for a sip of coffee, bowling, or a night at the movies they made an impression. He will be missed by many people in the Portland Fire Department, Hannaford, and in the community because their truly wasn’t a heart that he did not touch.
David is survived by his sisters Shirley Cook-Hoar and Laura Burnham, his brothers Gary, Robert Jr., George, and Shawn Burnham, as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Judith.
