Born in Tewksbury, Massachusetts Diane grew up in Medford raised by her parents Robert and Jean Perry alongside her brother Douglas Perry. She grew up enjoying swimming competitively, as well as competing in Track and Field. In college she was a D1 swimmer and runner. After graduation she went on to become the Women’s Track and Field Coach at Bucknell University where she met her husband and love of her life, Donald Ware (Don).
Diane and Don spent their lives building a strong family together, raising their seven children in a love and faith filled home. She had no greater joy than spending time surrounded by her loved ones and was her children’s biggest support, cheerleader, and encourager. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest blessings and she loved watching each of her grandchildren grow.
Diane treasured her home in Windham, Maine, where she and Don retired. She loved the nearby ocean, exploring the nature in Maine, and her companion dogs Taylor, Annabelle, Hero & Gracie.
Diane was passionate not just about her family, but also her faith. She shared her faith through volunteer work doing Gideon Bible Distributions at fairs, conferences and medical facilities across New England, handing out thousands of New Testaments.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Donald Ware; her seven children, Nathan Ware (Ruth), Rachel Green (Miles), Matthew Ware, Elisabeth Powell (Matthew), Sarah Ware, Joshua Ware (Nory), and Caleb Ware, as well as four grandchildren: Jacob, Andrew, Hannah and Enzi.
Diane’s family is comforted knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord and her loved ones that have gone before her.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or viewing/visitation.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in Diane’s name to The Gideons International or The Dana Farber Jimmy Fund.
