Donald Arthur Dennison

Donald was born in Portland on October 21, 1942; the son of the late Allen and Anna (Currit) Dennison. He attended local schools and for many years worked as a mechanic, and then later as maintenance person for the South Portland School district.

For many years Donald lived with his family on Peaks Island where he was a member of the Peaks Island Lions Club, enjoyed cruising in his boat, and raised a loving family. Donald also enjoyed trips to the family camp in Old Town where many great memories were made and shared.

Predeceasing Donald was his loving wife Cheryl (Whitton) Dennison, a son Donald A. Dennison, a granddaughter Tasha Higgins, and a sister Louise Hodgdon.

Surviving are his daughters Connielynn Higgins and Deanna Dennison both of So. Portland; two grandchildren, Akadia and Gabrielle Higgins; his siblings, Sallie Hofmann, Allen Dennison, Duayne Dennison, Helen Coolong, and Claudia Lawler.

A period of visitation for Donald will be held this Monday, May 12th from 10 to 11 AM at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland, ME; where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in So. Portland.
