Elizabeth “Bea” M. Ott, 96, formerly of Gorham, died on January 1, 2023. She loved her family, music and the outdoors, especially the camp at Hancock Pond. Bea was born and raised in Deep River, Connecticut, the daughter of Emma Mather Moore and Raymond Moore. She graduated from Deep River High School and attended LaSalle Junior College, Boston University, and Julius Hart School of Music.
Bea was choir director and organist at the Deep River Congregational Church, and after her marriage taught piano in Westbrook and Gorham. A member of the First Parish Church of Gorham, she was treasurer of the church Sunday school. In addition, she served as director of the Gorham Campfire Girls, and was active in many other local organizations, including the American Field Service Program.
Surviving are her son David Ott and his wife Martha of Falmouth, and her daughter Susan Darrin and her husband Thomas of Greenland, New Hampshire; grandchildren: David Ott, Jr. and his wife Sabrina, Katharine Ott and her husband Martin Montgomery, William Darrin and his wife Tracy, Elizabeth Leik and her husband Martin; great grandchildren: Daniel and Mia Ott, Roman Montgomery, Autumn, Adrian and Evelyn Darrin, and Henry and Bridget Leik. Bea was predeceased by her husband, James H.L. Ott, Jr., and her brother, Robert M. Moore.
There will be no visiting hours. A private burial service will be held at Sebago Cemetery in the spring.
