

She was born in Cambridge, MA to parents Anna & Emile Trepanier. After graduating high school, she attended Beauty School in Boston where she owned and operated her own salon. She married Joseph (Bill) W. Gingras on Sept. 4, 1951 and together they raised 4 children in Portland. She and Bill enjoyed a dozen years in Florida before she returned to Maine in 2001. Florence loved to read, golf, crochet, play bingo and in her later years enjoyed painting.
She is predeceased by her husband, son Donald and her grandson Lucas. She is survived by her son, Steven and wife Suzette of Oklahoma City OK, daughters Elaine Murphy-Maltais and husband David of Epsom, NH and Denise and husband Jonathan Keene of Falmouth. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and residents at St Joseph’s, especially Units D & B, for their kindness and caring over the past 3 ½ years.
As were Florence’s wishes there will be no visiting hours. There will be a memorial mass on Friday Sept. 9th at 10:00 at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland, ME. Burial will be Friday, Sept. 16th at 11:00 at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
