Irene was born in Englewood, New Jersey on October 14, 1937. She moved to Maine at a young age, grew up on Munjoy Hill, attended Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School. She was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided her life and shaped the way she cared for others.
She worked at Maine Printing for 50 years, a remarkable career defined by loyalty, consistency, and pride in her work. Her dedication to her job reflected the same dependability she showed in every part of her life. She was a proud member of the Italian Heritage Center, enjoying game nights with her lifelong friend, Philly.
Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who showed her love through presence, support, and everyday acts of care. She loved simple, meaningful traditions. Sunday dinners with her family and loved ones were a cornerstone of her life and a tradition she deeply cherished. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, crafts, making wedding cakes for friends, and occasional trips to the casino. Irene was known for sending cards to everyone for every occasion, and the great grandkids always received intricate, homemade cards every month with $1 from Grammy!
