

Cape Elizabeth – James J. Beville, 92, died Sunday morning, August 8th at Village Crossings of Cape Elizabeth in the presence of his family.
Jim, the son of James H. Beville and Estella Oaks, was born in Swampscott, Massachusetts on February 16, 1918. After graduating from Lynn Classical High, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and became a flight cadet. For 40 years Mr. Beville worked for General Electric in aircraft engine field service and was assigned to numerous posts including five years in Israel and three in Petropolis, Brazil.
Jim enjoyed 71 years of marriage to Alma Lawless Beville. Together they spent their early retirement in Cape Cod that included extensive travel abroad before moving to Cape Elizabeth. His great pride and pleasure in life was his family.
He was predeceased by his son James J. Beville in 1996 and is survived by his loving wife Alma; his daughter in-law Patricia A. Beville; three grandsons, James J. Beville III and his wife Heather of South Hamilton, MA; Stephen T. Beville of Cape Elizabeth and Michael P. Beville and his wife Megan of Charleston, SC; five great grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, and Analise of S. Hamilton, Mass and Eli and Caden of Charleston, SC.
Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth. A reception for friends will be held at a future date at Village Crossings.
