

She was born in Bridgton on September 29, 1920 the daughter of Edward Thomas & Mary Elizabeth (McElroy) Spiller. She attended Portland schools graduating from Portland High School class of 1939 where she was a member of the basketball team.
In 1942, Lorraine married Ervin Monroe Hamilton, Jr., of Portland and had four sons. He died in 1963. She later married Ralph Hanson of Falmouth and he died in 1992.
Lorraine was employed for many years for the former Cushman Baking Company, and later worked in the office for Dr. Raymond LeBel for several years until her retirement.
She was a member of Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She loved the beach, collecting sea glass and swimming in the Maine ocean. Her favorite spot was Crescent Beach State Park. She had a great sense of humor and was very inquisitive. Over the years she was very active and loved walking, traveling, gardening, reading mystery novels, rug hooking and was an avid lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
She is predeceased by her son, Wayne E. Hamilton, 2 Brothers; William & Richard Spiller, her sister, Naomi Spiller and a great-grandson, Chandler L. Hamilton.
She leaves three sons; Gary M. and his wife Dawn Hamilton of Yarmouth, Keith R. Hamilton of Vineyard Haven, MA, Stephen J. and his wife Donna Hamilton of Jay, a brother Donald Spiller of Casco, nine grandchildren; Robin and John KurKomelis of Franklin, MA, Stacy Hamilton of Casco, Karen Hamilton and Neil Fitch of Portland, Keith Jr., and Tricia Hamilton of Severna Park, Md, Kristen Hamilton-London and Seanne London of Portland, Christine Hamilton of Gorham, Erika and Shawn Tilger of Moorestown, NJ, Brad and Tammy Hamilton of Raymond, Meghan and J.P. Hanrahan of Newington, CT, also survived by nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 1-2pm on Monday January 17, 2011 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St where a funeral service will be held at 2pm at the funeral home with Fr. Frank Logan officating. Those who wish are invited to meet the family for Graveside Services at 1pm at Evergreen Cemetery (Meet at Cemetery office) on Wednesday January 19, 2011.
