Lorraine G. Quatrano

South Portland– Lorraine G. Quatrano, 83, she passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 following a brief illness. She was born on October 14, 1927 in Boston, MA. the daughter of the late Walter and Sarah (Goddard) Swiger, she was raised in Ferry Village in South Portland with her five brothers and one sister.

She loved playing bingo and was an avid “shopper” but her biggest joy was spending time with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband John J. Quatrano; a son, John J, Quatrano, Jr. and her five brothers.

She is survived by her sons, Peter J. Quatrano and his wife Maria of Portland, Charles R. Quatrano and his wife Brenda of Standish, two daughters, Deborah Q. Nielsen and her husband Vincent of Buxton, Melissa L. Doughty of South Portland; seven grandchildren, Christine A. Nielsen, Charles R. Quatrano, II, John J. Quatrano, Eric P. Quatrano, Matthew G. Quatrano, Nicholas A. Doughty, Olivia L. Doughty; four great grandchildren, Isaac, Alex, Morgan, Nicole; sister, Patricia O’Brien; niece, Jean Scott and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, located on 199 Woodford Street. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Portland Eagles Club, St. John St. Portland
