Maralyn Frances Young

Falmouth- Maralyn Frances Young, 93, born March 3, 1923, daughter of Anna and Morris Benjamin, died at Gosnell House in Scarborough on October 18, 2016. She lived alone in Arundel and Kennebunkport most of her life. She started and ran many businesses there. In her fiercely independent and feisty entrepreneurial spirit, she owned an antique business for 35 years, opened and operated 2 restaurants, and bought and restored several homes. She loved dogs and horses, and owned trotters. She also loved gardening and cooking and making recipes from her harvest: original farm to table

Maralyn was predeceased by a son, Howard. Survivors are her son Jonathan Young and his wife Susan Lebel Young of Falmouth, her grandchildren Zac Young of NYC, and Alisa Andrews of Wellesley, Mass and four great-grandchildren, children: Walker, Taylor, Lawson and Brooke Andrews.

Maralyn's family would like to thank her caregivers from Home Instead, In-Home Senior Services and Hospice of Southern Maine for their incredible skill and compassion.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Animal Refuge League of Kennebunk.

Funeral arrangements will be private.
